Forage, Fire, Feast: Cooking Adventure
Lori McCarthy , foodie, forager and owner of CodSounds, will lead you on a foraging adventure along the shores of the wild Atlantic Ocean.
Learn about local edible plants and cook your lunch on the beach! Lori is highly knowledgeable about Newfoundland’s food culture and heritage and knows how to find her food in the wild. What she learnt from her own mother in the woods and on the beach, she passes on to her own young girls and also to those that participate in her foraging adventures.
At the end of the foraging walk, the adventure leads you to a secluded spot on the beach where a meal “from the bog and the bay” is waiting on the fire. Home made berry jam? Freshly baked bread? Scallops fresh from the ocean? Cod, caught hours before?
Bring your appetite. Dress for the terrain and the weather!
